Meet The Team
Ms. Sakila Khatun
Ph.D. Student
Sakila received her BSc (2011-2014) and MSc (2014-2016) degrees in Physics from University of Kalyani, West Bengal, India. She qualified SET (State Level Eligibility Test), NET (National Level Eligibility Test) with JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) from UGC, Delhi. She joined the group as PhD student in Aug. 2019 and her research mainly focuses on mixed metal oxide based nanostructures in electrocatalytic water splitting for hydrogen production.
Mr. Tanbir Ahmed
Ph.D. Student
Tanbir has completed his Graduation in Physics (Hons) from Krishnath College under The University of Kalyani in 2014. He has done his Postgraduation in Physics from Kazi Nazrul University in the year 2017. Tanbir has qualified Joint CSIR - UGC National Eligibility Test ( NET) for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Physical Sciences subject in the month of June and December of 2017. He has joined the group in September 2021 and working on nanostructured electrocatalyst development for H2 production by water splitting.
Mr. Kunal Ghosh
Ph.D. Student

Kunal did his M.Tech in Polymer Nanotechnology from Biju Patnaik University of Technology. Kunal's Ph.D. work focuses on MoS2 based ceramic nano composite for wear-resistant application.
Ms. Nibedita Sinha
Ph.D. Student
Nibedita completed her graduation form Tamralipta Mahavidyalaya under Vidyasagar University and received her M.Sc degree from Vidyasagar University. She has joined the group in Dec. 2020. Her research work focuses on development of nanostructured materials for efficient hydrogen production by water splitting.
Ms. Chandni Das
Ph.D. Student
Chandni completed her graduation from University of Kalyani. She has done her Masters in Inorganic Chemistry from NIT Durgapur. After completing her Master degree she has worked as a Project Student in Technical Research Centre, S.N Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences. She has joined the group in Dec. 2020. Her research work focuses on nanostructured materials for efficient hydrogen production by water splitting.
Mr. Santanu Pal
Ph.D. Student
Santanu gratuated in Chemistry (Hons.) from Panchmura College under The University of Burdwan in 2017 and received his M.Sc degree from Kazi Nazrul University in 2019. He has joined the group in Dec. 2020 as JRF. His research interest includes development of layered-type nanomaterials as efficient and durable electrocatalysts for electrochemical water splitting.
Mr. Rahul Kumar Chowdhary
M.Tech Project
Rahul is currently at 10th Semester of Integrated M.Tech program in Energy Engineering (2016-2021) at the Department: Energy Engineering under Central University Of Jharkhand, Ranchi. He has joined the group on Feb. 2021 for his M.Tech project work. His work is focused on development 2D metal chalcogenides for electrocatalytic water splitting applications.
Dr. Shipra Raj
Ph.D. Awarded
Shipra was awarded Ph.D. degree in 2018. Currently she is pursuing National Post-Doctoral Fellowship (NPDF) at IIT Mumbai. Her Ph.D. work was focused on development of nanostructure metal oxides and their applications in energy storage devices. She was also awarded Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) She has published eight research articles in different internationally reputed journals.
Dr. Siddhartha Samanta
Ph.D. Awarded (Joint)
Siddhartha completed his Ph.D. work in 2018. Currently, he is working as an Assistant Professor in an Institute. His Ph.D work was focused on polymer nano composites for sensor applications.
Mr. Mayukh Chakravorty
Project Assistant
Mayukh has worked as project assistant for one year and half in 2016-17. He has worked on metal oxide based electrode development for super capacitor applications and published one research article on his project work.

Abha has completed her M.Sc. project on polymer nano composite jointly with Dr. Pradip Kar and has published one research article on her work.
Mr. Anupam Das
Summer Intern
Anupam pursued summer internship on photoactive materials and studied on dye degradation kinetics. He has also published one research article on his work.
Dr. Shalini Divya
M.Sc. Project
Shalini completed her M.Sc. project on nickel cobaltite nanomaterials for supercapaictor application. She has published one research article and attended an international conference on her work. Recently, she has been awarded Ph.D. degree from Victoria University of Wellington, NZ.

Sharad did summer internship on deposition of metal oxide thin films by SILAR method and he has also published one research article on his work.
